Born at the end of the 60s, Acid Jazz is one of the most distinguished and seductive styles of all times. With its mix of soul, jazz, hip hop, funk and house, Acid Jazz attracts the attention of dance culture and those who likes good songs, well played, with fascinating arrangements. Acid Jazz Trilogy is a magnificent summary of this culture as it travels through the origins of the genre, with Joe Bataan and Cal Tjader, to the absolute classics (such as the Brand New Heavies, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Incognito and many others) and the evolution of the genre, where Acid Jazz combines with electronic music. Acid Jazz Trilogy is an album out of series, a very valuable piece to collect and enjoy.

Mother's Milk is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 16, 1989, on EMI Records. After the death of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak and subsequent departure of drummer Jack Irons, vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea regrouped with the addition of guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith. Frusciante's influence altered the band's sound by placing more emphasis on melody than rhythm, which had dominated the band's previous material. Returning producer Michael Beinhorn favored heavy metal guitar riffs as well as overdubbing that was perceived by Frusciante as excessive, and as a result Beinhorn and Frusciante constantly fought over the album's guitar sound.

Leopold Mozart’s reputation has suffered more than that of most of his professional contemporaries, due in no small measure to the fame of his peerless son and to much spiteful and ill-informed criticism over the past 200 years. Yet he was an acute and sardonic observer of men and morals, a superlative critic and teacher and, as this recording shows, a fine composer whose works circulated well beyond the confines of Salzburg and made the name Mozart famous before it became immortal.

A superb introduction to the amazing Alannah Myles catalog on this CD of hits and rarities. That's why it's called " MYLES & MORE ". Alannah has a tremendous gifted voice that can belt out anything from a blues song to full-tilt heavy rock, as well as sing an awesome ballad . This CD has of course the enormous hit " BLACK VELVET " that resonates as a classic today, and won many awards & achieved world-wide hit status. Plus her other hits like " LOVER OF MINE ", " STILL GOT THIS THING ", " SONG INSTEAD OF A KISS ", and great album tracks.

Part based on the club listings of the early '70s and part based on the club listings of today, this compilation has the dance floor groovers with a bit of strum, a bit of stomp, and a whole lotta Glam. You've probably never heard of any of the artists, but those collecting the Lipsmackin' series appear to be used to that now. Some acts do have interesting links, Jimmy Jukebox is that Nut Rocker Kim Fowley, 'Shout It Out; was written and produced by John Springate of the Glitter Band, 'Little Bit O'Soul' is a '60s Northern Soul classic by the Music Explosion given the glam treatment, the Jets keyboard player was also in Cockney Rebel, Roxy Roller was re-recorded by the singer in Sweeney Todd, 'Nick Gilder', who had a solo hit with it in 1977, 'Good Time Fanny' was written and produced by Andy Scott of the Sweet. In 1986, after sixteen years at the helm of Weather Report, Joe Zawinul stepped out with Dialects. The album was also the first solo disc since 1970 by the multi-keyboardist/synthesizer visionary/composer-arranger. As its title suggests, Dialects drew on various music tongues from around the globe.

Reinhold Glière was Russian-born and of Belgian extraction. His maturity saw Russia's Imperial days but most of his life followed the 1917 Revolution. He died three years after Stalin and Prokofiev. There's no indication of his being a dissenter. For him there is no 'Testimony'. Unlike Medtner and Rachmaninov he did not flee to the West when the barricades went up.

The genesis for this project which was very challenging and enjoyable to say the least, took shape over an extended period of time. Fortunately, Roberto and I weren't under any immediate pressure to come up with suitable material for a duo recording; which in turn, allowed the entire process to move at a very relaxed and productive pace. Needless to say, having enough time to work on different thoughts, opinions, and ideas as opposed to dealing with strict "over the shoulder" deadlines can be a huge advantage. Especially when faced with the demanding (and sometimes unforgiving) atmosphere of working in a recording studio.

This version of the Zawinul Syndicate could swing harder than any Zawinul-led unit since the heyday of Weather Report, as this two-CD set – taken from three concerts in Berlin and Trier, Germany – triumphantly illustrates. Small wonder, for the lineup of the Syndicate looks almost like a Weather Report alumni gathering, with Zawinul, the brilliant percussionist Manolo Badrena from the 1977 Heavy Weather band, and bassist Victor Bailey, from the great '80s global-funk edition forming a quorum, with Paco Sery on drums and Gary Poulson on guitar filling out the ranks.
