Led by Scott Boyer and Tommy Talton, the Jacksonville band Cowboy was discovered by none other than Duane Allman, who, as legend has it, banged on their door at 7 am one day and asked to hear some songs. He then recommended them to Capricorn label owner Phil Walden, who sent Allman Brothers producer Johnny Sandlin to check them out; Sandlin ended up producing several Cowboy albums for Capricorn, of which this 1971 release was the second. The Allman Brothers connection on this album is even more explicit than it was on their debut album (Reach for the Sky, also reissued by Real Gone Music); Allman plays guitar on Lookin for You and dobro on Please Be with Me, while ABB keyboardist Chuck Leavell appears on half of the album tracks. But what makes 5 ll Getcha Ten special and indeed what makes it many Cowboy fans favorite record is the songwriting. Please Be with Me was covered by Eric Clapton on his classic 461 Ocean Boulevard release, and throughout the album a gentle undercurrent of spirituality courses through these beautifully played and sung songs, particularly on What I Want Is You, Innocence Song and the title tune.

In the first biography of the composer, published in 1760, John Mainwaring tells us that "Handel had an uncommon brilliancy and command of finger, but what distinguished him from all other players who possessed these same qualities was that amazing fullness, force and energy which he joined with them. And this observation may be applied with as much justness to his compositions, as to his playing."

For this first recording, Andrea Buccarella explores the history of the most emblematic form of Baroque music, from its appearance in Italy at the end of the sixteenth century right up to its apotheosis in Johann Sebastian Bach: the toccata. With its inventiveness, its formal freedom, its contrasting effects of virtuosity and emotion, the Italian toccata – whose name probably comes from the verb toccare (to touch/play) – opened the way for the stylus fantasticus that was to dominate Germany in the late seventeenth century.

These quartets were recorded in sumptuous sound from December 1967 to the middle of ’68. Remastering can lead to shrillness which undermines intonation – but not here. This sounds fabulous above the stave.

Tangerine Dream has never produced anything calculated to make the masses jump off their chairs and start screaming Top 40 tunes, but they have managed to have an immense impact in the world of Electronic and soundtrack music. Their 107 (and counting) studio, live and soundtrack releases have their own driving hypnotic pieces that might differ from release to release, but they are all uniquely Tangerine Dream.

This music was written by Chris Jonas over the course of three years of winter solo camping during the pandemic. The location was the 2 million acre Barry Goldwater Missile Range in the far southwest corner of Arizona along the USA-Mexico border. Accessible by permit only, the scorched white playas or the Missile Range are bombed regularly, but the “sky islands” of its many mountain ranges are wilderness preserves that contain unique species of animals and plants that were stranded here after the ice age.

SUPERB JAPANESE BROADCAST RECORDING FROM THE 1989 ONE FOR ALL WORLD TOUR After the European success of their previous album, E.S.P., the Bee Gees began work on their next record, One, in early 1988. In March, their brother Andy suddenly died and the brothers took a break until November when they returned to the studio to complete the album, but this time they shifted to Mayfair Studios in London, making One their first release since Mr. Natural to be recorded partly or fully in the British capital. The album was dedicated to the memory of their younger brother and the song Wish You Were Here was written as a tribute to him. The Bee Gees One For All World Tour began in Tokyo, Japan on 10th April 1989, and after covering dates in Europe, The US, Canada and Australia, concluded in Matsuyama, Japan, some 10 months later. The brothers show in Tokyo was broadcast live on FM Radio and is now featured for the first time on this superb CD, which includes the entire set played that cool spring evening by this mesmerising act, now more than 30 years ago.

Gene Vincent only had one really big hit, "Be-Bop-a-Lula," which epitomized rockabilly at its prime in 1956 with its sharp guitar breaks, spare snare drums, fluttering echo, and Vincent's breathless, sexy vocals. Yet his place as one of the great early rock & roll singers is secure, backed up by a wealth of fine smaller hits and non-hits that rate among the best rockabilly of all time. The leather-clad, limping, greasy-haired singer was also one of rock's original bad boys, lionized by romanticists of past and present generations attracted to his primitive, sometimes savage style and indomitable spirit.

Worrisome Heart is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Melody Gardot. It was released independently in 2006 and later re-released in 2007 and 2008 by Verve Records in the United States and by Universal Classics and Jazz (UCJ) internationally. The album contains new recordings of songs previously released on Gardot's first extended play, Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions (2005), as well as previously unreleased tracks.

The Greatest Hits of Eric Burdon and The Animals was the group's compilation representing the Animals' last three lineups, and showcased their venture into psychedelic rock. It was released in March 1969 in the US but never put out in the United Kingdom; it was the last album MGM Records would release in (more or less) the group's lifetime. Despite containing three tracks that had been US Top 15 singles, the collection was not commercially successful, placing only at number 153 on the Billboard 200.
