Joe Cocker was an English singer, gravel-voiced vocalist whose animated live shows (especially at Woodstock) made him a legend, perhaps the finest soul singer Britain ever produced. He hit number one in the U.K. in November 1968 with his version of the Beatles' "A Little Help from My Friends." His career really took off after he sang that song at Woodstock in August 1969. A second British hit came with a version of Leon Russell's "Delta Lady" in the fall of 1969 and both of his albums, With a Little Help from My Friends (April 1969) and Joe Cocker! (November 1969), went gold in America. In 1970, his cover of the Box Tops hit "The Letter" became his first U.S. Top Ten.

Eye in the Sky is the sixth studio album by the British rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released in June 1982 by Arista label. It was recorded in London's Abbey Road Studios. Songs on this album are in a number of different styles, from cool and funky to lyrical and heavily orchestrated. It is variously reported as The Alan Parsons Projects' best-selling album, and was the last platinum record from the band. Vocal performers are Eric Woolfson, David Paton, Chris Rainbow, Lenny Zakatek, Elmer Gantry and Colin Blunstone. Eye in the Sky contains the Project's biggest hit, the title track with lead vocals by Eric Woolfson. The album itself was a major success, reaching the Top 10 (and sometimes the #1) in numerous countries.

The Exclusive Edition includes two bonus tracks in addition to the major release. George Benson's place as one of the greatest and most successful guitarists in the history of jazz is secure, but what's easy to forget sometimes is that he began his career as a vocalist, and if this release, a tribute to Nat King Cole, comes as any kind of surprise, it shouldn't. Benson's and Cole's careers are remarkably similar, both becoming known first as instrumentalists, Cole as a pianist, and Benson, of course, as a guitarist, with both eventually easing into the pop mainstream because of their voices. Cole was a one of a kind vocalist, of course, and even Benson wouldn't claim to equal him as a singer, but Benson has a similarly soothing and lush tenor voice that more than holds its own on these familiar songs.

Digitally re-mastered edition of the groundbreaking 1981 debut from this British Metal band. Night of the Demon was the album that first introduced the songwriting talents of Dave Hill and Mal Spooner to the world. Dark, occult-based lyrical themes make up half the album, and the whole concept was shrouded in mystery at the time of it's original release. Still regarded as a classic over two decades later.

This Italian singer/songwriter and actress was born in Torre Annunziata in 1969. Making her debut at the famous Festivalbar singing contest in 1986 with the song "Ragazzo Solo" (Lonely Boy), she went on to become a popular recording artist. Specializing in Neapolitan pop, between 1993 and 2008 she recorded no fewer than nine albums, and in 2009 proved there was more than one string to her bow when she won the prestigious David di Donatello Award for her acting performance in Matteo Garrone's crime drama film Gomorra. In 2010 she performed at the Sanremo Music Festival, duetting with Nino d'Angelo on the song "Jammo Jà" (Come on Let's Go), and a year later her song "Ragione e Sentimento" (Hearts and Minds) featured on the soundtrack of the movie Tatanka. In 2013 she returned with the mini-album Libera (Free), heralding the record's arrival with another appearance at Sanremo, where she performed the songs "È Colpa Mia" (It's My Fault) and "Quando Non Parlo" (When I Do Not Speak).

Featuring guest appearances from Billy Gibbons, Brian May, and Tim Montana, 'Friendlytown' is a must have for fans of Cropper's world-renowned repertoire. "I feel great about this batch of songs. It's packed with great radio hooks, and features some of the best musicians in the world," says Cropper. "It's like guitar heaven."

This gargantuan 35-disc set of Alfred Brendel's complete Vox, Turnabout, and Vanguard recordings released in late 2008, concurrent with his retirement from concert life, will be mandatory listening for anyone who reveres the Austrian virtuoso. When these recordings were made between 1955 and 1975, Brendel was at the start of his international career, and his performances here have a fire, energy, and a drama that his later recordings sometimes lack. Brendel devotees, however, may also find his performances lack the intellectual rigor of his middle period recordings and the poetic depths of his later recordings. Compare his demonic account of Mozart's Twentieth Concerto here, for instance, with his more elegant later account. The difference is clear.

For a long time, Anton Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony (together with his Second) was regarded as something of a “poor relation” in his immense symphonic oeuvre, even though the composer himself had moodily referred to it as his “boldest”. Over the decades, in view of its performance figures and recordings, this has changed significantly: The work has now secured itself a permanent place in the repertoire. The Sixth Symphony belongs to the creative process of the two preceding symphonies, the “Romantic” Fourth (1874/1880) and the Fifth (1875), and is now seen as an important preliminary stage in Bruckner’s last great upsurge that followed the composition of the “Te Deum” (the initial sketches of which date from 1881), and culminated in the sublime grandeur of his final symphonies, the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth.

Rebel Yell is the second studio album by English rock musician Billy Idol. It was released on 10 November 1983, by Chrysalis Records. After the release of his 1981 eponymous debut album, Idol continued his collaboration with Keith Forsey and Steve Stevens. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York. Initially recording without a drummer, utilizing only the electronic drum machine LinnDrum, Forsey and Stevens later decided to hire Thommy Price to play drums on some of the songs. Musically, Rebel Yell is a rock album with a strong influence of new wave music. The cover sleeve and images were shot by Brian Griffin. Idol got the idea of the album's title after attending a party with The Rolling Stones and drinking the Rebel Yell whiskey. Upon its release, Rebel Yell received positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success.

If history has always been written by the winners, in the case of Spain's youth music of the late '50s and early '60s, it has basically been told by the records, first by the few that were actually released, and finally by the lucky ones that enjoyed certain success and critical appreciation. Set aside as marginal, the rest have been left ignored due to the debatable and apparently set in stone statement that the history of Spanish rock starts with the legendary festivals at Madrid's Price venue promoted by musician Pepe Nieto, then drummer in Los Pekenikes. Without wanting to reduce in the slightest the importance of those shows as a revitalizing element of Spain's rock scene, the start date of those famed Madrid matinees (end of 1962) doesn't respect the fact that at the end of the '50s, and at the pace that the autarkic Spanish society of the time allowed, the foreign young rhythms slowly reached the country with the healthy intention to stay and make people dance.
