Alison Truefitt (1942-2020) was touched by genius. During a life sadly curtailed by dementia she managed to cram in five different careers, in all of which she operated at the highest level. As a young woman leaving University, she became Education Correspondent at the London Evening Standard. This she abandoned in 1971 to found the White Lion Street Free School in London, which broke the mould of traditional education and influenced generations of theorists.

"Flux Reflux" is the second recorded outing of this improvising quartet, and the first one for Clean Feed label. While Platform’s first album Anthropocene, was recorded right after the French clarinetist Xavier Charles joined three young musicians from Oslo to form a quartet, Flux Reflux is the result of several years of live experience. The album consists of 6 acoustic, improvised pieces, and contains no compositions in the traditional sense of the word.

One of Frank Rosolino's first sessions as a bandleader, "I Play Trombone" was released in 1956 and the title left no doubt about the instrument on which he built his career and legendary reputation. An alumni of both Gene Krupa and Stan Kenton's orchestras, Rosolino moved to Los Angeles in the mid 1950s where he was kept very busy playing on albums by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Qunicy Jones and Mel Tormé, among many others, but he also kept up a solo recording career.

Emerging in the mid 1960's, Canned Heat was founded by blues historians and record collectors Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson and Bob "The Bear" Hite. "Boogie with Canned Heat" was the Los Angeles blues/rock band's second album and features almost entirely original material. Included on the album is the Top 10 hit "On the Road Again".

"Living the Blues" is Canned Heat's third album. A double album, it was originally released in November 1, 1968 and was recorded between August and October of the same year. Canned Heat's signature song, "Going Up the Country", was featured on this album and would later be used in the documentary, "Woodstock".
