After "Ginastera" (2016) and "Debussy/Tôn Thât-Tiêt" (2018), PRAELUDIO is the third opus - the first as a soloist- that Patrick Langot has recorded with Klarthe Records. Founder of the Syntonia Quintet, soloist and chamber musician with a much praised discography (Chocolate Classical, Diapason Découverte, first choice of the "Tribune des Critiques" on France Musique) and lead cellist of internationally renowned ensembles, Patrick Langot delivers here a recital on three different instruments, uniting the Alpha and Omega of the "prelude" for solo cello.

This collaboration between a consort of viols and the Greek lyra takes John Dowland’s Lachrimæ or Seaven Teares as its point of departure; together they paint a transverse and stateless picture of melancholy, although this is set against the joyful hope of a shining future that appears in these improvisations and timeless Anglo-Byzantine dances.

Bononcini’s La decollazione was first performed during Lent of 1709 in the chapel of Emperor Joseph I in Vienna. The rather sober scoring of La decollazione for strings and continuo might be explained by the Lenten presentation, but the vocal and instrumental demands of the piece fully exploited the brilliance of the Viennese musicians, and their skill in opera. At the same time, Bononcini integrated his skills in counterpoint, normally associated with sacred music, throughout the work so that it presents as both worldly and spiritual.

The Musikkollegium Winterthur rounded off its 2018/19 concert season with a six-day Brahms Festival, during which – besides numerous other works by Johannes Brahms – the composer’s four symphonies were performed under Principal Conductor Thomas Zehetmair. Steeped in tradition and boasting a proud history dating back to 1629, the Swiss orchestra thus commemorated the years when Brahms was a frequent visitor to Winterthur and his compositions were released by the Winterthur music publisher Jakob Melchior Rieter-Biedermann. Eldest son of the successful Winterthur machinery manufacturer Heinrich Rieter, Rieter-Biedermann opened his publishing house in 1849 and the first two compositions appeared in 1856: Theodor Kirchner’s Albumblätter op. 9 and Hector Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été.

JAMESDAVIS formerly known as James Davis is made up of three siblings, fraternal twins Jess and Rey and their brother Auston Reynolds. The name of the group comes from their family, taking the middle name of all the men (James) and the maiden name of their mother (Davis). Jess was signed at the age of 15 and worked with songwriter Harold Lilly as part of her artist development. Rey was mentored by Leon Ware and all three grew up around the music industry. The three began playing together during a rehearsal when they were growing up. Jess described the rehearsal as her and Rey "bickering" when Auston stepped between them and began humming a melody into the microphone. Jess and Rey joined Auston with all three playing together for hours.

Cincinnati dance-rockers Walk the Moon offer their first concert album, You Are Not Alone: Live at the Greek. The band rose to international success following their spirited 2014 hit single "Shut Up and Dance," which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100. Featuring live renditions of songs from each of their two studio albums, You Are Not Alone was recorded during a sold-out show at Los Angeles' Greek Theater in the fall of 2015.
