Recorded between the band’s numerous live dates, Islands continues King Crimson’s penchant for mixing contrasting styles and dynamics; from the gothic melodrama of The Letters, the warm laid-back musings of Formentera Lady, the stately chamber orchestra setting of Song Of The Gulls, through to the raucously skewed blues of Ladies Of The Road and the yearning, poignant title track. The stand-out however, is Sailor’s Tale which breaks with the symphonic and jazz-inspired leanings of their previous albums. Propelled by Ian Wallace’s insistent cymbal and Mel Collins’ acerbic sax break, it also introduces a spikier, fractious metal-edged guitar sound that ultimately points the way towards Larks’ Tongues In Aspic. Originally released at the end of 1971, Islands also marks the end of lyricist Peter Sinfield’s tenure in the group…

The Mississippi Delta has some of the most fertile soil in the world and became one of the richest cotton growing areas in the world which, before the American Civil War, was worked exclusively by black slaves brought over from Africa. The blues was forged on the anvil of poverty and hardship the black sharecroppers and tenant farmers had to endure. Born of the harsh, brutal conditions of life in the South, and full of pain, frustration and anger, the passionate, soulful sounds of the Delta revolutionised the sound of 20th-century music. This compilation celebrates some of its greatest exponents.

The group soon landed a deal with Columbia Records, which enlisted producer David Rubinson to capture the band playing the Fillmore West in December; these tapes were shelved until Columbia/Legacy issued them in 1997 as Live at the Fillmore 1968. Prior to recording their first album in early 1969, Santana swapped Livingston and Malone for Michael Shrieve and Mike Carabello, adding percussionist José Chepitó Areas as well. This incarnation recorded the group's eponymous debut, then set out on tour, where they had a career-making appearance at the Woodstock festival in August 1969. That was the same month Santana appeared in the record stores, and it was a swift success, climbing its way to number four on Billboard's album charts during the course of its two-year run on the charts.

The global phenomenon of Secret Garden has been so far reaching that it's hard to believe the duo of Norwegian keyboardist/composer Rolf Lovland and Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry have only recorded three previous studio albums in addition to their 2001 compilation, Dreamcatcher. Alessandro Scarlatti composed many oratorios to celebrate special events. Colpa, Pentimento e Grazia, subtitled Oratorio per la Passione (Oratorio for the Passion) and created for Easter 1708, evokes the Passion of Christ through a text written by a great roman patron of the time, Cardinal Ottoboni. This is the first recording of the Baroque Orchestra of Seville, conducted by Eduardo López Banzo.

Hybrid Theory was recorded in the digital domain, it was then mixed through an analog electronic chain onto tape. Those original master tapes were then carefully transferred to 192/24 wav files that ended up being our audio source for the One-Step pressing. We used Neotech VR900-D2 180g vinyl compound which is the same as what is known as Super Vinyl or Clarity Vinyl – the best in the world. Levi Seitz at Blackbelt Mastering (Metallica, Pearl Jam, Beyonce etc) cut the multiple sets of lacquers required – crucially all from the same lot of lacquers. Being a massive Linkin Park fan himself – Levi already knew every little sound on this iconic album! Dorin Sauerbier at Record Technology, Inc (R.T.I.) has been plating records for decades and is considered the best in the world – he also has done more One-Step processing than anybody. This is a vital step in the process to ultimately delivering the absolute best sounding version of Hybrid Theory ever. Record Technology, Inc did the pressing – using the exact pressing machine used for so many Mobile Fidelity One-Step releases. Our slipcases, “Old Style” tip on original art jackets, and inserts were printed by world renowned Stoughton Printing Company.

Jack White has long congratulated himself for being a musician who blends the lines between the past and the present. "Lazaretto," the follow-up to his gold-certified debut album, "Blunderbuss," does exactly this. There's blues influences here; there's ballads. There's hip-hop rhythms and then there's sprightly melodies. Drama seems to be key in describing this album, and it makes itself known in the fury essential to each track.
