Shortly before the Swinging Sixties started in Great Britain, France was the bastion of cool European pop sounds. Sensual young French women with a lot of mascara and a dreamy innocence marked what was to go down in music history as "Les Années Yé Yé". The Yé Yé women grabbed American and British pop, gave it an unmistakably Gallic touch and provided a lively sound that still sounds good and catchy today. This collection brings together a whole bar of rare and sought-after tracks: from relaxed sound like "7 Heures Du Matin" by Jacqueline Taieb and Katy David's version of Petula Clark's "Call Me" to "Je Suis Sublime" by Elizabeth.
