Presented as the sister record to 2014’s Asleep Versions, Piano Versions is a collection of ambient piano cover versions. The songs on the EP, originally by Roger & Brian Eno, Thom Yorke, Luke Abbott and James Yorkston, are presented in a completely new context to their initial form. On these versions, Hopkins used his upright piano as the centrepiece of the EP, whilst recording the ambient, environmental elements around it.

Wolf Parade's Spencer Krug has announced new solo album Fading Graffiti which will be out April 16 via his own helpfully named label, Pronounced Kroog. The album takes songs that originated as piano ballads on Krug's Patreon in 2019 and recontextualizes them as indie rock. This is also Krug's first album under his own name, having previously worked under his Moonface solo guise and Sunset Rubdown. The first single is Fading Graffiti's title track, which is pretty terrific – swooning and odd, and maybe just a little like Destroyer's more guitar-centric records.

As one of the pioneers of jazz-rock – perhaps the pioneer in the ears of some – Larry Coryell deserves a special place in the history books. He brought what amounted to a nearly alien sensibility to jazz electric guitar playing in the 1960s, a hard-edged, cutting tone, and phrasing and note-bending that owed as much to blues, rock, and even country as it did to earlier, smoother bop influences.

Sven Hammond has been known for rock, soul and blues since its inception in 2006: styles that always sound familiar, but never get boring. Even with 9 released (live) albums to their name, the band continues to innovate and develop.

My name is Leon Røsten and I’m a Norwegian jazz pianist, guitarist, songwriter and composer. My main work is leading, performing and composing for my bands Leon Røsten Odyssey, Sonic Cycles, Swallows Nest and Røsten as well as collaboration in other projects such as Mari Eriksen/Leon Røsten, Jera and Vejslev/Røsten. My main goal is to express and share the music from within and hopefully touch the listener whilst creating an interesting experience.

Prior to founding the band Morphine, Mark Sandman launched Hypnosonics, built around a stripped down drum kit with no toms and a piece of plywood in place of cymbals, played by Jay Hilt. With funk in its heart, Hypnosonics was originally a five piece with Sandman on guitar and organ, Tom Halter and Russ Gershon of the Either/Orchestra on trumpet and sax, and Mike Rivard, who later founded Club d'Elf, on bass. After Morphine took off, Dana Colley joined Hypnosonics, Hilt added hi-hat cymbals to his kit, and the horn section started singing. In 1996, the same year that Morphine recorded Like Swimming at the legendary Cambridge, MA studio Fort Apache, Hypnosonics visited the Fort to play a live-in-the-studio radio broadcast on beloved local rock station WFNX.

Red Rodney was the last of the original bebop trumpeters. After cutting his musical teeth playing swing with big bands, Rodney converted to jazz under the guidance of Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker.

This new work, although it includes many vocal themes, also contains so many instrumental themes in which the increasingly numerous soloists of the orchestra have their opportunity to share their creativity, their ability to generate their own discourse, in a continuous evolution.

Pianist Luc Beauséjour presents the New Baroque Sessions, collecting works from baroque composers Johann Jakob Froberger, Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer, Johann Sebastian Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, François Couperin, Armand-Louis Couperin, and Claude Balbastre!

Musician, composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites is best known as the co-founder of the platinum-selling indie folk trio the Lumineers, who rose to multi-platinum success in the early 2010s. In 2021, Fraites released his debut solo album, a collection of instrumentals called Piano Piano.

Runar Noersett Trio was formed in 2017, developing compositions that Runar made between 1993 and 2016. Fredrik Sahlander, bass player and Associate Professor at the University in Agder, and Tobias Øymo Solbakk, drum teacher at the same place, joins Runar in a musically energetic, original and playful recording From the Ashes (2019). The songs live in the nordic landscape of jazz, but is also influenced by american piano jazz.

Russian composer Nikolai Medtner left behind an amazing body of works for solo piano. This is the first volume in what will be an integral recorded edition of Medtner's solo piano works, performed by Frank Huang. Frank Huang is a Steinway Artist and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Piano at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Previously, he was a faculty member at The College of Wooster and The Cleveland Institute of Music. Described by New York Concert Review as a "thoughtful and accomplished performer" and that his playing was "impressive for it's maturity and refinement," Mr. Huang has gained international recognition for his artistry and technical command.
