This new album by Lapland Chamber Orchestra conducted by John Storgårds is dedicated to works by one of the most exciting Finnish composers of her generation, Outi Tarkiainen (b. 1985). This album, first of its kind with Tarkiainen s orchestral works, includes two works with mezzo- soprano Virpi Räisänen and saxophonist Jukka Perko as soloists.

His third album “Retronyms” sees Carlos Cipa bring together his background as a classically trained pianist and composer with his interest for experimental forms and pop music. After numerous live performances throughout the years, a slew of collaborations and, amongst others, works for film and theatre performances, he invited different musicians to his Munich studio to record the eight pieces. On “Retronyms”, improvisation goes hand in hand with the high art of composition while acoustic (and partly unusual) instruments like the celesta meet with electronic production methods or analogue synthesizers.

The late '90s saw former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman return to recording/touring duty with a new outfit, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. As expected, Wyman managed to retain some bluesy elements from his previous band, but the Rhythm Kings primarily specialized in a musical form that made a surprise comeback during this time - swing.

An unusual move for Tom Petty to score the music for the Edward Burns's film She's the One and then still turn it into a standard Tom Petty release. The inclusions of two versions of "Walls" and "Angel Dream" make it seem more like a movie soundtrack. But, at heart, the material is more classic Petty. "Grew Up Fast" and "Hope You Never" are perfect radio songs and Petty's cover of Beck's "Asshole" proves his anti-punk stance may finally be softening with a little help from producer Rick Rubin, whose ears have given Petty his most appealing production in years.

Pathfinding (2015) was the debut album from Jakob Norgren Jazz Orchestra, produced with financial support from the Swedish Arts Counsil.

This wonderful piece, Beethoven Sonata no.2, it is unknown when exactly this piece was composed. But as the result of Nottebohm’s study on Beethoven’s sketch note, it is assumed to be composed in 1795.

Like Korngold, Toch, Schoenberg, Zeisl and Zemlinsky, Richard Stöhr (1874–1967) was one of many Austrian composers driven into American exile by the Nazis. His generous output of music, being rediscovered at last in these Toccata Classics recordings, includes seven symphonies, much chamber music, songs, and choral and piano pieces.

Scott Hamilton is a jazz tenor saxophonist associated with swing (music) and mainstream jazz.
He emerged in the 1970s and at the time he was considered to be one of the few musicians of real talent who carried the tradition of the classic jazz tenor saxophone in the style of Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins as well as Zoot Sims and Don Byas forward. He began playing in various rhythm & blues outfits in Providence (Rhode Island), but subsequently shifted to jazz and the tenor saxophone. In 1976 he moved to New York City at, in part the recommendation of Roy Eldridge.
