On his last couple of Warner Bros albums, Gorilla and In the Pocket, James Taylor seemed to be converting himself from the shrinking violet, too-sensitive-to-live "rainy day man" of his early records into a mainstream, easy listening crooner with a sunny outlook. JT, his debut album for Columbia, was something of a defense of this conversion.

Foreigner was arguably the finest band of AOR's late-'70s and early-'80s heyday. Unfortunately, after a decade of monstrous success and raking in truckloads of cash for themselves and Atlantic Records, 1987's Inside Information showed that the songwriting gas tank of guitarist/keyboardist Mick Jones and vocalist Lou Gramm was running low. Impeccable studio craftsmanship can't compensate for the lack of quality songs.

Roberto Prosseda: I decided to explore Charles Gounod’s piano music as I feel that he is one of the most underrated Romantic composers. Famous for his operas Faust and Roméo et Juliette, Gounod wrote about 40 pieces for piano, and some of them, like the ambitious Sonate pour piano à quatre mains (here recorded with Enrico Pompili), remained unpublished and unrecorded till today.

Having sold over a quarter of a million albums worldwide and sold out headline tours, London siblings Kitty Daisy & Lewis return with their new album, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis The Third. Produced by Mick Jones of The Clash in a new 16 track analogue studio in a derelict Indian restaurant in Camden Town, the band take their third album to another level, with the songwriting, instrumentation, styles, production and sound.

Return Henri Texier, legend of the transalpine jazz, with the last mutation of the group started with Francois Corneloup to the baritone and the son Sébastien to the contralto. The two saxophonists were in the organic of the Strada Sextet ((V) ivre, Label Bleu 2005), they animated the most recent Hope Quartet (with the drummer Louis Moutin) and we find them together here, next to the guitarist Nguyen Le and the pianist Armel Dupas.

The Sir Douglas Quintet may have began life as an admirably nervy attempt by Doug Sahm and producer Huey P. Meaux to crash the Top 40 with a band of Texas rock & rollers during the height of the British Invasion, but Sahm's wide-ranging musical tastes would move in a single direction for only so long. With time, the enthusiastic Tex-Mex garage rock of the early Sir Doug sides took on strong blues, country, and norteño influences as their career wore on into the mid-'70s, when Sahm retired the band's moniker.

Rock & Roll Strategy is the eighth studio album by the southern rock band 38 Special, released in 1988, and their final album for long-time label A&M Records. It was the first album to feature the new vocalist and keyboard player Max Carl.

Changestwobowie is a David Bowie compilation album issued in 1981 by RCA Records. Its title and packaging followed the format of RCA's earlier Bowie compilation, Changesonebowie released in 1976. As well as post-1976 singles, the album collected songs from earlier in Bowie's career that had not appeared on Changesone. However it did not repeat the chart success of the earlier compilation, reaching No. 24 on the UK Album Chart and No. 68 in the United States.

Released in May 1976, Changesonebowie begins where Bowie the artist begins in the collective imagination: not with his 1964 debut single "Liza Jane," but with his 1969 hit "Space Oddity." Even in 1976, it was already a bona fide classic, but it was the odd man out when it originally appeared on the singer's second (and second self-titled) album. David Bowie was a hippie, acoustic singer-songwriter album featuring song titles like "Memory of a Free Festival" and "Unwashed and Slightly Dazed." Especially in the post-Ziggy Stardust "Starman" era, casual fans didn't have much use for the flaxen-haired pseudo-Bob Dylan vibe of David Bowie.
