Medeski, Marsella, Hollenberg, and Grohowski are Chaos Magick—a powerful electric quartet formed to perform Zorn’s twisted and challenging compositions. The film scores of Iranian-born/U.S.-educated Nima Fakhrara (Exists, Gatchaman, The Courier) are known for their experimental bent, the product of a composer informed not only by Persian classical music but university studies in anthropology and ethnomusicology. To score William Eubank’s thought-provoking sci-fi movie, Fakhrara says he "wanted to achieve a certain sense of mystery and tension throughout the film. Our characters are being pulled and pushed in many directions, so the music had to feel the same. We also wanted keep the audience guessing throughout the film by scoring scenes in unconventional ways.” Fakhrara’s expansive sensibilities also drive him to craft new instruments from industrial scraps. Original Folk Blues is a compilation album by American bluesman John Lee Hooker, released in 1967. It mostly features songs that Hooker recorded for Bernard Besman in Detroit, Michigan, between 1948 and 1954 they were originally issued by Modern Records. During the mid-1960s American folk music revival, there was increased interest in older blues music. Chess Records responded with its The Real Folk Blues series of albums, which compiled earlier singles by several of its most popular blues artists, including Hooker.

Brian Culbertson A prolific keyboardist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, Brian Culbertson is known for his many crossover albums, which find him touching upon jazz, funk, pop, and new age. Black and Blue is the thirteenth studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 23 April 1976, by Rolling Stones Records. This album was the first record after former guitarist Mick Taylor quit in December 1974. As he had done the previous time the Stones were between second guitarists in 1968, Keith Richards recorded the bulk of the guitar parts himself, though the album recording sessions also served as an audition for Taylor's replacement. Black and Blue showed the band blending their traditional rock and roll style with heavy influences from reggae and funk music.
