Runaway Horses is the third solo album by the American singer Belinda Carlisle, released in October 1989 by MCA Records. The album features songs written by Rick Nowels, Ellen Shipley, Charlotte Caffey and a song co-written by Carlisle herself. The album contains an array of guest artists, including George Harrison and Bryan Adams. The album peaked at number 37 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album debuted on the UK Albums Chart on October 30, 1989 at number four which was the album's peak position, matching that of her previous album. The album spent a total of 39 weeks in the UK Top 100 and was certified platinum. The album was also a success in Australia peaking at number six, and was certified double platinum.

Back in early 80s Soho, Blue Rondo A La Turk defined 'cool'. Singer/writer Chris Sullivan, guitarist Mark Reilly and vocalist Christos Tolera (with help from myriad talented personnel) married Latin jazz, R&B, Cuban and urban soul with a strong pop sensibility (witty lyrics, catchy melodies). After singles such as the Top 40 hit 'Me And Mr. Sanchez' and the irrepressible'Klacto Vee Sedstein' and debut album 'Chewing The Fat' in 1982, the team went their separate ways. While Mark Reilly and others founded Matt Bianco, a new line-up of the original combo re-emerged in autumn 1983 with shortened name Blue Rondo. Accompanied by new singles 'Slipping Into Daylight' (a club favourite at the time) and 'Masked.

Through jazzy tones, elements of chanson, and intense vocal pieces, Scollo and her distinguished guests span an arc that reflects the diversity and complexity of the poems while allowing each piece to feel like a musical diorama, granting access to Kaléko and her world. Artists like clarinetist Tara Bouman, cellist Susanne Paul, and German songwriter Dota Kehr each make unique contributions to this album, characterized by a sense of community and collaboration as well as actress Eva Mattes, with whom Scollo recorded two duets.
