A Yorkshire-based unit MATERIALEYES were founded by Dave WESTMORELAND (voices, keyboards, guitars) and Will LAWERY (guitars, voices). After a short while a multi-instrumentalist Martyn HOWES (guitars, keyboards, saxophone, bass, drums, voices) joined the project. They released their debut album "Strange Road" in the spring of 2018 via their own label Davwilmar Music. In the following year in collaboration with a couple of musicians like Billy LONGTHORNE (drums), Bill MOSEY (bass), or Dianne HOWES (flute, voices) their second creation titled "In Focus" was launched. Three Of A Kind is their third album.

"It's been a long year here at Materialeyes HQ. The coronavirus has prevented musicians from meeting up and doing what they love best - jamming, performing and recording music. Many people have lost loved ones. This affected us personally when someone close to our hearts passed away quite recently. In one way we were lucky in that we had recorded a good deal of our new album before we had to isolate. There has had to be compromises made, however we are in agreement that this, our new album is our greatest achievement to date. We're thrilled to bits to bring you Three of a Kind!"
