Perhaps better known under her previous guise as Oh Susanna, My Name Is Suzie Ungerleider marks the tenth solo studio album by the Vancouver based singer-songwriter and the first since announcing she would record and perform under her birth name.

As I write these words in Chicago during May of 2020 and look back on the week of activity in January that led to these recordings with István Grencsó and Róbert Benkő, it’s hard for me to comprehend that the tour scheduled at that time would most likely be the last series of concerts that I play in 2020. Without warning the world changed for everyone between those months, and it’s very hard to predict how things will look in the future, for music and for everything else.

The Cologne vibraphonist Matthias Strucken is an outstanding musician, has already played with the who's who of the German jazz scene and leads various bands of his own. We had a lot of fun playing and had a long and lively conversation. Among other things, he tells us what he does to avoid routine routines in his game and shows us a few tricks on his instrument.

Christoph König is a very extraordinary violinist and arranger. His main band is the acoustic crossover quartet "Uwaga!", But he is also active as an arranger for many other ensembles and orchestras. In this new work, the inspiration comes from the ancient southern forests of our continent, the ancient stories and legends that are transmitted for generations, which speak of magical beings with supernatural powers, who inhabit the depths of the mountains, the beds of torrential rivers. and flooded swamps, and that with their enchantments give life to a world beyond our perception, beyond reality, and that nevertheless is a source of inspiration and gives life to the music of our unconscious.

American artist Still Woozy has announced details around his debut album, ‘If This Isn’t Nice, I Don’t Know What Is’.
