I'm a collector and I own a lot of music from different artists and from all different styles,but always I'm going back to the fifties,that's for me the time that artists really sing with there voices,the time from sweet voices and beautiful orchestra and one of this are Bing Crosby and Peggy Lee,two great singers who can sing everything,the album is really good and I'm glad that I could find him on cd,because the LP record is to old and I couldn't play him anymore,now I recieved the cd and I could listen again to the beautiful songs from Bing & Peggy.

After appearing on a quartet of very different BIS releases, ranging from early baroque arias to orchestral songs by Alban Berg and Mahler’s ‘Resurrection Symphony’, the British soprano Ruby Hughes has devised a song recital, together with her regular Lieder partner Joseph Middleton. The process began in 2018 when the two gave the world première of Helen Grime’s Bright Travellers, a set of five poems charting the interior and exterior worlds of pregnancy and motherhood.

From the moment Karen Gomyo first heard Astor Piazzolla on disc, at the age of fourteen, she was spellbound: ‘I had never heard such a combination of sensuality, fierceness, playfulness, sadness and nostalgia.’ As a violinist she found the role of the violin in Piazzolla’s music especially inspiring, and soon started playing it herself – first in various group combinations, and eventually together with Piazzolla’s longtime pianist Pablo Ziegler and his Tango Quartet.

For their latest offering the members have looked closer to home, however, choosing to combine the quartets by Samuel Barber and Charles Ives.

The six sonatas for violin and harpsichord obbligato rank amongst the most beautiful chamber music composed by Bach however, they are overshadowed by the solo sonatas. They are performed beautifully here by Daniel Gaede and Raphael Alpermann.
