Label: Pickwick Records/PDA 047 | Released: 1979 | Genre: Pop-Rock

The British label Pickwick/Hallmark, is characterized by making re-editions. This time I scored another point by purchasing this double LP’s live by Elton John many, many years ago, with two concerts recorded in the 70s decade (1970 – 1974). I say a success because the records are intact, just like their original versions and the best in a single double album! What more can I ask for?

Label: Paramount Records/PAS 6004 | Released: 1971 | Genre: Soundtrack / Pop-Rock

A movie soundtrack that's about half instrumental, but it's not a tossoff: the vocal tracks are as carefully produced and enjoyable as Elton's "real" albums.

Give it a chance!
Why? Because this is a good US 80's reissue and is remarkable the sound. You can hear the instrument separation, Elton's clear voice (I listen minimal details.) For you understand me, listen "Come Down In Time", "Love Song", "My Father's Gun" as an example.
You don't miss this edition. If you want to compare with another pressings/rips… Go ahead!

Although he had made a number of re-recordings of popular songs for a budget record label in the late '60s, Empty Sky was the first true solo album Elton John recorded after leaving Bluesology; it also marked the beginning of his long and fruitful collaboration with lyricist Bernie Taupin.

E-Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt left the band following the recording of Born In The U.S.A. and released his own album, Voice Of America. It was Van Zandt's second album, after his prior release Men Without Women, and he was again backed by the Disciples Of Soul, including bassist Jean Beauvoir, and drummer Dino Danelli. Van Zandt himself handled vocals and guitars, as well as writing and producing the record's ten songs (the 1991 reissue included two bonus cuts). Voice Of America is a straight-ahead rock record with punk underpinnings and strong percussive rhythms. Van Zandt is a bit thin and reedy as a singer, but manages to carry through on passion and bravado.
