The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration. Written as the soundtrack for a feature length film in mind, The Bride is Khan’s most ambitious work to date, sonically and visually incorporating an entire world inhabited by The Bride, along with the characters and places she encounters on the way.

I'm Glad You're Here With Me Tonight suffers from stilted, polished production, and a poor selection of songs; "Free Man in Paris" and "God Only Knows" may be great songs, but they're not suited to Diamond's easy listening arrangements. Only "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" stands out among the bland filler, and that is better heard on his subsequent album, also titled You Don't Bring Me Flowers.

Love Over Gold is the fourth album by British rock band Dire Straits, released in 1982. Due to its lengthy atmospheric instrumental passages, the album has been cited as the band’s attempt at progressive rock. “Private Investigations” was released as the lead single from the album in Europe, which reached #2 in the UK. “Industrial Disease” was, instead, the lead single in USA, only reaching #75 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983. In 1986, Love Over Gold had sold 4.4 million copies in Europe, whereas the album had only reached gold status in the United States by that stage.
