Diamond Dogs is a concept album by David Bowie, originally released by RCA Records in 1974. Thematically it was a marriage of the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell and Bowie's own glam-tinged vision of a post-apocalyptic world. Bowie had wanted to make a theatrical production of Orwell's book and began writing material after completing sessions for his 1973 album Pin Ups, but the late author’s estate denied the rights. The songs wound up on the second half of Diamond Dogs instead where, as the titles indicate, the Nineteen Eighty-Four theme was prominent.

L.A.-based buzz band The Record Company releases Give It Back to You on February 12, 2016. The rock/roots trio of Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Alex Stiff (bass, guitar, vocals) and Marc Cazorla (drums, piano, vocals) has already been hailed by LA Weekly for making bluesy music that would sound more at home in a sweaty, backwoods Mississippi juke joint, while Time Out Los Angeles has described their sound as reminiscent of some of the best acts of the 50s and 60s like if John Lee Hooker and the Stooges had a well-behaved love child.

Swiss-Chinese pianist Louis Schwizgebel has been described as an ''insightful musician'' by the New York Times. At the age of seventeen he won the Geneva International Music Competition and was named a BBC New Generation Artist from 2013-2015. On this Aparté release he couples two Schubert piano sonatas - D845, which was composed in 1825 and D958, which was written in 1828, during the last months of Schubert's life.

Gundula Janowitz had a very beautiful voice that critics like to describe as "creamy," whatever that means. Strauss had a life-long love affair with the soprano voice. He even married one–not just the voice, the whole woman, of course. His Four Last Songs constitute his dying tribute, and they are probably the most hedonistically gorgeous vocal works in existence.

Yasushi Yoshida has released three albums; Secret Figure (2006), Little Grace (2008) and Grateful Goodbye (2010) on MIDI creative/noble. The piano, the wind and the strings weave tapestries of tranquil notes, that are full of sadness as well as vibrancy and vitality. The soundscape is so eloquent and storytelling that listeners bring back their own stories. His works have also been used on a number of films and stages. "Heavenly Me", recorded on his fourth album, appeared as the sole track on the latest film "Gui aiueo:S", directed by Go Shibata (Late Bloomer, Doman Seman, etc). His first full album in six years, entitled Heavenly Me Last Days, is due to be released in summer 2016 on tuba…disk.
