A twangy, honking, electric guitar blues riff opens up an 11-song set of rock-tinged blues with a country flair on the Canton-based Waydown Wailers’ third album released this June.

The opening song, “Back Door Woman Blues,” is a testament to the band’s cohesiveness.

“That song was given to us by our producer (Aaron L. Hurwitz),” drummer Mike “Scruffy” Scriminger said. “He sent it to us with a guitar track and some words. We really only worked on it once. It’s amazing the magic that happens in the studio sometimes.”

The Waydown Wailers are David Parker, rhythm, lead guitar and vocals; his brother Christian Parker, rhythm, b-bender and lead guitar; Connor Pelkey, bass and backing vocals; and Mr. Scriminger, drums and percussion.

“This is our seventh year,” Mr. Scriminger said. “We’re on a 10-year plan of building and growing.”

This third album “Backland Blues,” is similar to the band’s first album, a 2014 release called “State of the Union.”

“It’s rocky — edgy,” Mr. Scriminger said.

The album is being promoted by Blind Raccoon Promotions, which has already gotten the music radio play across Europe. More than 400 CDs have been delivered to radio stations across the United States as well.

Blind Raccoon specializes in blues artists. Its lineup includes the legendary Buddy Guy as well as well-known artists like Blind Lemon Pledge, Grammy winner Tom Hambridge and Chicago bluesman Breezy Rodio.

“They don’t take you,” Mr. Scriminger said of Blind Raccoon, “unless they think you’ve got it.”

The basic tracks of “Backland Blues” were recorded over three days in Subcat Studios in Syracuse.

The record was produced by Mr. Hurwitz, also known as Professor Louie, who also plays a Hammond organ on the record, at Woodstock Records in Hurley.

Eight of the 11 songs on the album were written by the Parker brothers and Mr. Scriminger.

The three covers that fill out the album lineup are “Dizzy Miss Lizzy” by Lawrence E. Williams and famously recorded by the Beatles, “Done Somebody Wrong” by Elmore James, the King of the Slide Guitar, and “Lover of the Bayou” by the Byrds’ Roger McGuinn and Jacques Levy.
