This reissue series of classical music masterpieces by Esoteric has attracted a lot of attention, both for its uncompromising commitment to recreating the original master sound. Originally released in early 1963, Monk's Dream was the first Thelonious Monk album for Columbia. At the time this was recorded, he had become one of the preeminent figures in contemporary jazz. His move to Columbia put him in the company of a couple of the era's other major talents and commercial successes, Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck, and his quartet was stabilized for a couple years with tenor saxophonist Charlie Rouse (with him since 1958), bassist John Ore, and drummer Frankie Dunlop.r-celebrated in its day, Monk's Dream is rich with the confidence of a band at its peak.

Brilliant Corners is a studio album by American jazz musician Thelonious Monk. It was his third album for Riverside Records, and the first, for this label, to include his own compositions. The complex title track required over a dozen takes in the studio. The album was recorded in three sessions in late 1956 with two different quintets.

The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in East Kilbride in 1983. The band revolves around the songwriting partnership of brothers Jim and William Reid. Their debut album "Psychocandy" was released to critical acclaim in 1985 on major label WEA… The band went on to release five more studio albums before disbanding in 1999. They are reunited in 2007.

"Animalization" is the fourth American album by British R&B group The Animals. It has a track listing somewhat similar to the British album "Animalisms". "Animalization" was released in the US in the summer of 1966 and hit the top 20, driven by three singles. The album introduced new Animals drummer Barry Jenkins, who shares drum credits with his predecessor, departing founding member John Steel. Now remastered using transfers from the original first generation mono tapes, this edition includes bonus stereo versions of three songs.

Charlie Lee Byrd was an American guitarist. His earliest and strongest musical influence was Django Reinhardt, the gypsy guitarist. This album was released on Columbia Records in 1968. It is a collection of covers, the list of performers includes Bernard Purdie, Herbie Hancock and more.

Blues guitarist Robert Cray's double platinum breakthrough is included on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 best albums of the 1980s and remains one of the highest-charting blues album in history, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard mainstream album chart in 1987. A good part of the album's success was due to the hit single Smoking Gun which Rolling Stone called "a smoldering tale of jealousy and murder". This album won a 1988 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Recording.
