I’ve heard this album got some pretty savage pans from various prog fans, but I actually kind of enjoy it. Yes, it’s song-oriented, but I definitely get more of a prog vibe from this than I was expecting. Strong vocal harmonies and good keyboard work brighten these little tunes. I won’t lie, there’s a fair amount of junk tracks here (I imagine most listeners stopped after making it to the chorus of “Needing You,” which really is pretty awful), but I think there are more hits than misses here, and the musicianship is of a high quality throughout. Prog-pop, sort of like a more rustic version of Kayak with stronger folk-rock and even country-rock (no, really) touches. Give it a chance!by Progbear, rateyourmusic.com
