MIXED UP With the Disintegration album and its accompanying global Prayer Tour, 1989 had delivered a triumphant end to the 80s, but the first year of the 90s found The Cure unexpectedly unsettled.Determined to keep up the momentum of the band’s ongoing success, but knowing there were internal tensions to address before heading back into the studio, Robert Smith decided on a different course of action; curating an album of the band’s rarer 12” mixes. As work on Mixed Up progressed, Smith realised that some of The Cure’s earlier remixes didn’t stand up to the newer ones.Robert singles out Brian 'Chuck’ New’s dub style remix of Pictures Of You as the one that inspired him to take a more adventurous path. "That mix turned the music on its head, but at the same time left the essential heart of the song intact. As soon as I heard it, I updated the entire Mixed Up plan. My revised ambition was to compile an album that was contemporary without being dated, immediate without being obvious, musically inspiring, rhythmically exciting and sonically great!"

Non-RSD version of the excellent Greatest Hits performed acoustically from the legendary band The Cure. They rose to fame in the late 70's and early 80's as the post-punk / alternative scene was then blooming, The Cure being at the forefront. Curated by Robert Smith himself, Greatest Hits & Acoustic Hits provides an insight to their transformations as a band, delving into a selection of their gloomy goth-tinged tunes right through to a range of their infectious pop-driven hits and serves as a taster to twenty years of their highly influential music.

Greatest Hits is a 2001 compilation album by The Cure. The band's relationship with longtime label Fiction Records came to a close, and The Cure were obliged to release one final album for the label. Robert Smith agreed to release a greatest hits album under the condition that he could choose the tracks himself. The band also recorded a special studio album released as a bonus disc to some versions of the album. The disc, titled Acoustic Hits, is the eighteen songs from the North American release re-recorded using acoustic guitars.

The Cure Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late '70s, few are as enduring and popular as the Cure. Led through numerous incarnations by guitarist/vocalist Robert Smith, the band initially became well-known for its slow, gloomy dirges and Smith's exaggeratedly gothic look, a public image that often hid the diversity of the Cure's music. La bohème is an opera in four acts, composed by Giacomo Puccini between 1893 and 1895 to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on Scènes de la vie de bohème (1851) by Henri Murger. The story is set in Paris around 1830 and shows the Bohemian lifestyle (known in French as "la bohème") of a poor seamstress and her artist friends.

The Cure’s new album, Songs of a Lost World, is set for a live release called Songs of a Live World Troxy London MMXXIV.
Released at the start of November, Songs of a Lost World is the band’s first album in 16 years, and their first number one album in the UK since 1992’s Wish. On the day of release, The Cure performed the album in full at London’s Troxy venue, and it’s this live performance which makes up Songs of a Live World. Whilst the performance on the night also saw The Cure play a number of hits and fan favourites, Songs of a Live World is limited to the tracks from the new album.
