Album notes don't always tell the whole story. Contemporary president Les Koenig, who rightly felt that Art had yet to record with musicians who were his equal, wanted to take advantage of Miles Davis' quintet being in L.A. But Pepper hadn't been playing for several months, and his horn was in a state of disrepair. To minimize anxiety, the session was kept secret from Art until the last minute. But Pepper always rose to a challenge: he taped to his dried-out cork, arrived for the date, and proceeded to record an album widely considered the most important of his career. This is an all tube recording from the microphones to the tape machine.

The last song on this 2014 remaster, "Lovin' You Did not Come Easy", is an previously unreleased song, released over thirty years after it was recorded.

"A Million To One" is a fourth studio album by The Manhattans. Originally it was released on on vinyl on the long-defunct Deluxe Records label and are from the time period before the great Gerald Alston joined the group. In 2015 album finally has been reissued on the Sony-affiliated Funky Town Grooves label.

This is an excellent sampler of the Heads Up SACDs. It also contains, as a bonus track, a version of “Woke Up This Morning” used in the opening credits of “The Sopranos” TV series not available elsewhere on SACD.

Daft is a compilation collecting the Art of Noise LP Who's Afraid of the Art Of Noise? (with one track, "Snapshot", appearing in a longer version than on the original UK LP, but previously released on the Japanese version), along with portions of the Into Battle with the Art of Noise EP and "Moments in Love" remix single. It gives a fairly thorough overview of the Trevor Horn period of the group, prior to its split from the ZTT label. In 2003 the album was re-released on Super Audio CD.
