Flutes, viola, clarinets – three musicians, three instruments and three voices – just one found composition for this line-up – written under the pseudonym “Mr. Montelli.” Three women who took up this name as a trio and draw inspiration from the diverse sound of this line-up, their diverse musical experiences and the narrative threads of music history to tell their own stories.

In their own compositions, improvisations and arrangements, Sophie Katharina Schollum (flute, vocals, composition), Anna Magdalena Siakala (viola, vocals, arrangement), and Theresa Dinkhauser (clarinets, voice) tell of moonlit tents on steep rocky coasts, of entwined clouds of sound in hazy cellars , colorful markets in the scorching heat and elegant windows behind which women in corsets pour their dreams into sounds under pseudonyms. They travel to snow-covered mountain huts, enjoy the freedom of being alone, to feel the longing for closeness in solitude, and celebrate exuberant parties on swampy meadows under a starry sky. In melodies and harmonies, words and movements, they philosophize about structures and systems, talk about the rush of a break, about lost wishes, new dreams and wide spaces that they fill with their innermost voices by playing and singing. A tightly woven tapestry of collected experiences and favorite sounds - blended into fresh realities of connection, vibrancy and possibility.
