CRAFTING QUINTET is a modern jazz group that presents original, rich and diverse music. The five performers have patiently built a creative bond over the course of their concerts and residencies. On the score, we will always find a strong melody that captures the attention or a mixture of bold timbres that shape the sound of the group. On stage, it is the pleasure of interactive play and the management of authentic energy in the service of the reliefs of their music that makes this group so relevant and endearing.

Led by Jean-Baptiste Loutte and Romain Habert, CRAFTING QUINTET is a collective of five musicians and composers, friends since their study years at the Paris Conservatory. After releasing an eponymous EP in 2021 which seals their common commitment, the group chooses to evolve its musical direction on stage in most of the capital's clubs (Sunside, Baiser Salé, 38 Riv', Duc des Lombards, Les Disquaires) . Little by little, confidence is established and freedoms are taken. Connections are made more and more immediately and the letting go invites even the most neophyte audience to join the party. TONNERRE DE JAZZ crowned winners of the 2023 edition precisely for this sense of collectiveness and their claimed horizontality.
