Following the release of their debut album Freedom Pass in 2024, the sextet of free jazz improvisers that make A Bigger Mouth release their new album Band Stand. Lead track ‘Structural Nonsense’, is a percussive and playful exploration of tension and release.
The first Mouth was a duo of Lol Coxhill on soprano saxophone and Mike Walter on tenor saxophone. They performed and recorded together for twelve years and often grew into a quartet with the addition of acoustic bass and drums. Mike also gathered a trio under the same moniker for occasional performances.
