Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii was born blind in 1988, but began to show great musical talent in early childhood. This gift enabled him to transform his greatest handicap into a strength. The piano became a sonorous means to express his inner world. At the age of two, Nobuyuki played "Jingle Bells" on his toy piano as he heard his mother singing the melody in the next room. He went on to make his stage debut at ten, with the Osaka Century Symphony. Nobu, as his family and friends call him, has gathered his repertoire exclusively through hearing and playing what hears. In this way he has reached a level of musical virtuosity that has seen him perform in some of the most famous concert halls in the world.
