When a plane crashes on a mountaintop Chris wants to plunder the wreckage. His older brother Zachary has given up mountain guide work but goes along rather than letting his brother risk it alone. The only survivor is a Hindu girl who Chris wants to kill. Zachary fights him off. While Chris steals from the dead passengers, Zachary prepares a sled to take the girl down the mountain.

Set in the rural south of the United States, a bereaved war widow learns to to put aside her bitterness and grief as she grows to love a young orphan boy and the dog that belonged to her late son. Punctuated with song-filled interludes.

Thunder Afloat is set during the first world war. Wallace Beery plays an veteran tugboat captain who harbors a grudge against younger ex-pal Chester Morris. When Morris joins the navy as an officer, he runs across Beery, who resparks the feud. Both men bury the hatchet and work shoulder to shoulder when German U-boats threaten innocent shippers. Though the action takes place in 1918, the film was intensely topical in 1939 given the renewal of maritime hostilities in Europe and the Far East. Thunder Afloat made money by the bushel basket, as did most of Wallace Beery's formula vehicles.

A crusading crime reporter (Stuart Erwin) is approached by the daughter (Madge Evans) of a shop owner (J. Farrell McDonald) to investigate the mobsters who have threatened her father. With the help of a suave society lawyer (Franchot Tone) who injects some delightful and unexpected romance into the story, they work together to fearlessly engage the mobsters and outmaneuver their attempts to escape the law. Director George B. Seitz (You’re Only Young Once, Andy Hardy Meets Debutante) masterfully blends the script’s edge-of-your-seat action with love in this compelling tale.

Set at a factory that makes aircraft for World War II, Roma and Brad Maple's marriage begins to show signs of difficulty. Their problems get worse when Brad's friend Corky, who wants to work at the factory to avoid being drafted, arrives to stay with them and makes a move for Roma.

Henry Rodgers is after Margie's stage line. He has her in trouble by having her gold shipments robbed thereby driving her insurance premiums to an unaffordable level. Eddie and Soapy arrive to help out. Eddie suspects Rodgers but when he breaks into his office, Rodgers apparently kills him. With Eddie out of the way, Rodgers makes the robbery that will put her out of business.

A documentary about the disastrous 1968 round-the-world yacht race.
The story spans most conceivable aspects and unlike some documentaries did not try and refrain from showing the grimmer sides of the stories, as also dealing with the guilt of the people Don left behind him, wondering why they didn't stop him in time. It took me a few hours to get out of the melancholy that gripped me after seeing this very-well made documentary.

Although distracted by the elite entertainments found at court, the princess cannot help but mourn her impossible love for the dashing Duc de Nemours (Jean-Francois Poron). Faithful to her husband in spite of her longings for the Duc, her fidelity – as is always the case – is unfairly doubted and maligned, leading to trouble all around.
