Pongo en tus manos abiertas… is the fourth studio album by the Chilean singer-songwriter Víctor Jara as a soloist, one of the most important representatives of the New Chilean Song. It was recorded during 1969, and published that same year by the record label Jota Jota (later DICAP). The album has been reissued several times and in different countries, changing its name in some versions to that of Te recuerdo Amanda.
Among the songs present are several songs composed by Víctor Jara himself, including “Te recuerdo Amanda”, one of his best known songs. Traditional songs from the Caribbean and Mexico are also included, as well as the musicalized version of Pablo Neruda’s poem, “Ya parte el galgo terrible”. Some songs are accompanied by the Chilean group Quilapayún.
In April 2008, the Chilean edition of Rolling Stone magazine ranked this album in fifth place among the 50 best Chilean albums of all time.wikipedia.org
