Saxophonist and composer Samuel Blais, awarded the 2011/12 Jazz Revelation by Radio Canada, completed a Bachelors degree in Jazz Performance at Canadas McGill University, which led him on to complete his Masters in same at the Manhattan School of Music in NYC. While in New York, he performed with many jazz notables, including veteran saxophonist and former Miles Davis band mate Dave Liebman. "Cycling", featuring Mr. Liebman, won a Prix Opus for Best Jazz Album, 2010/11.

There's no accounting for how great music comes together on record. Sometimes everything is meticulously laid out for months or years in advance, as artists use planning and implementation to their advantage in the creative process; other times, sparks just fly at spur of the moment sessions. Cycling falls into the latter category…These musicians are highly attuned to one another and there's no shortage of vitality and verve in the music they produce…It's amazing what can happen in a studio when the stars align.
