The band "Salingo" originated in 1998 from a cooperation between the Munich blues guitarist John Saling, to Amon Düül guitarists Chris Karrer (who played the violin), the Polish accordionist Jolanta Sczcelkun and Martina Brück with bass and song in this constellation. With aboard with numerous concerts was Jochen Scheider, an excellent rock drummer and jazz drummer from the Munich environs. The idea was to escape from the stereotype the Gipsy jazz or Balkan tape and to present the varied facets and style directions of the Sinti and Roma's music to a broader audience. If the song also belongs to it in Romanes, the old language related to the Indian Sanskrit. Beside traditional compositions we have anew interpreted modern pieces of Czech, Slovenian and oriental tape gecovert and in our current rock jazz instrumentation.
