Andris Nelsons leads the Concertgebouworkest in Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss. Inspired by Nietzsche, Strauss translated topics like desire, joy, passion and death in music.

Admirers of Colin Davis' legendary Berlioz performances know that his 1974 recording of Symphonie fantastique was an outstanding LP in the Philips catalog, and that it has been reissued several times since on CD, each time to renewed praise. Davis is almost ideal for this work, which is precariously balanced on the knife edge between Classicism and Romanticism; few other conductors have the intellect and temperament to control the Apollonian and Dionysian impulses in Berlioz, and the sympathy for both the elegant and grotesque aspects so evident in this revolutionary masterpiece.

In honour of Bernard Haitink's 90th birthday this year, Decca presents one of the conductor's most lauded and respected series of repertoire. Bruckner's symphonic cycle is played here by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, recently voted by Gramophone Magazine as ‘The Greatest Orchestra in the World’.

Freeworld was originally formed in Memphis in 1987 by sax player Dr. Herman Green and a young bass player Richard Cushing and quickly became a Beale Street staple playing rock, soul, blues, jazz, reggae and gospel. The band has had a rotation of players over the years constituting dozens of current and former members. Green passed away in 2020, but Cushing has maintained the band. Today, he still plays bass, provides the backing vocals, and is the writer or co-writer of most of the original songs on the album. Sax player Peter Climie also shares most of the writing or co-writing on the album. More Love is the band’s eighth album.
