In honour of Bernard Haitink's 90th birthday this year, Decca presents one of the conductor's most lauded and respected series of repertoire. Bruckner's symphonic cycle is played here by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, recently voted by Gramophone Magazine as ‘The Greatest Orchestra in the World’.

Freeworld was originally formed in Memphis in 1987 by sax player Dr. Herman Green and a young bass player Richard Cushing and quickly became a Beale Street staple playing rock, soul, blues, jazz, reggae and gospel. The band has had a rotation of players over the years constituting dozens of current and former members. Green passed away in 2020, but Cushing has maintained the band. Today, he still plays bass, provides the backing vocals, and is the writer or co-writer of most of the original songs on the album. Sax player Peter Climie also shares most of the writing or co-writing on the album. More Love is the band’s eighth album.

An acclaimed French pianist known for his jazz interpretations of classical works, Jacques Loussier rose to prominence leading his trio in the 1960s. A gifted classical musician in his youth, Loussier gravitated toward jazz and issued a series of innovative, genre-bending albums under the Play Bach title in which he reworked the music of Johanne Sebastian Bach.

The most popular folk group of the 1960s, Peter, Paul and Mary in later decades have also proved themselves to be among the most durable music acts in history. Their longevity dwarfs that of the Weavers, while the fact that the trio continues to be associated with a major record label (Warner Bros.) after decades in the business sets them apart from rivals like the Kingston Trio and the Brothers Four. Then again, perhaps it isn't so surprising – Peter, Paul and Mary's roots run deeper than almost any other folk act one might care to name, while their appeal crosses audience lines that other acts couldn't (and can't) even approach.
