This set of recordings of Doc & Merle Watson at The Boarding House in San Francisco is from 4 live shows in 1974 recorded by legendary soundman Owsley Stanley, and demonstrate the quality and clarity of the live recording techniques he innovated. While father/son duo Doc & Merle Watson reached their commercial peak in the 1970s, live recordings from this time are rare, and the performances in this collection have not been heard since the nights they were played more than four decades ago.
