The term 'rock 'n' roll' has become a kind of punchline, a synonym for dusty gender roles, old-fashioned, wide-legged quirkiness that has become music. So, as in so much today, it's about time to renew completely – THE Deadnotes call their third album "Rock 'n'roll Savior" and thus give the diffuse collective word a contemporary, long overdue update.

The destructive power of rock'n'roll is well documented and they both know it well enough, but Darius Lohmüller and Jakob Walheim prefer to focus on the intangible, but still always noticeable, power of music. Because despite all the stereotypes, there is also this fundamental truth: the too loud songs, the too long nights, the too true lines of lyrics at the right moment – all this can save you, no matter what. Anyone who has already felt this, knows that it is true. THE DEADNOTES have written songs that want to do just that for you – save you when you need it.

With a guitar riff that sounds like the title melody for the whole album, an 80s drum sound recreated with great attention to detail, a saxophone to the stop and an unbridled joy of playing, "Jesus Christ!“ like no other song for the freedom that THE DEADNOTES have gained in recent years.

"This song was the first one we wrote for the new album. I was stuck in an incredible hole and was desperately looking for some kick. Fortunately, I found a therapy place at the end of 2022 that stabilized me. We wrote this song, and only after that I discovered artists like Huey Lewis or Tom Petty for me – and suddenly a completely new world opened up for me,“ says singer and guitarist Darius.

THE DEADNOTES encounter the harshness of everyday life on "Rock'n'roll Saviour" with a romance that is not naive, but that is aware: sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better. But it's getting better.
