This edition presents the complete original Stan Getz LP "West Coast Jazz" (Norgran MGN1032), showcasing the leader in a quintet format sharing the spotlight with trumpeter Conte Candoli, pianist Lou Levy, bassist Leroy Vinnegar, and drummer Shelly Manne. The album was recorded in Hollywood in 1955, and has been included here along with two further LPs taped by Getz in the West Coast during the same period, "The Steamer" (Verve MGV8294), and "Award Winner" (Verve MGV8296), both of which feature Getz fronting a quartet, with Levy on piano and Vinnegar on bass again, plus Stan Levey on drums.
