Hear the evocative, new work from the Melbourne-based band Shayan, led by saxophonist and composer Omid Shayan.
Omid Shayan is a saxophonist and composer from Melbourne, and for the past few years, he's fronted the collective 'Shayan'. The outfit released their debut album in 2019, incorporating elements from Iranian folk music, contemporary classical genres and jazz. In 2021, they were awarded an ABC Jazz Composer Commission, recording The Heart Is A Candle in our Melbourne studios in 2022.
