"Somnambule", the debut album by Olga Reznichenko's trio, was released in May 2022, and the young Leipzig-based band was soon able to enjoy an excellent response in the media. Rondo praised their "fine feeling for unusual song developments", Concerto noted: "Reznichenko's powerful and fast-paced approach to the keys has a pleasant effect. […] Excitement is guaranteed, even when she incorporates her classical background, as in Slipping Pace Returnig Time." WDR3 named Somnambule one of the best German jazz albums of 2022: "On her debut album, she overwhelms with a wealth of melodic ideas that she continues to spin in never-ending twists and turns." The BR Klassik jazz discussion panel praised the "advanced, harmonically and rhythmically sophisticated music" and stated: "With her debut album as a bandleader, Olga Reznichenko […] not only holds her own, but also stands out."

Somnambule's repertoire was based on imaginary dream sequences, whereas the pieces on Rhythm Dissection are inspired by real experiences and, above all, by musical ideas. "Rhythmically and also harmonically, the new album is much more complex than our debut," explains Reznichenko, "the focus is more on improvisation, in many forms there is a stronger connection to jazz. I see improvisation as part of the composition, so it's not completely free, but an extension of the motifs."
