This is a coupling of two major sonatas by Chopin, which Nobuyuki Tsujii has received great acclaim on his Japan and world tours. The second sonata, with its famous "Funeral March" in the third movement, was written in Chopin's late 20s. Tsujii, who is now in the same generation as Chopin, takes on the world of the young Chopin's originality and ambition. This live recording was made at Tokyo's Kioi Hall, after having played the piece both in Japan and abroad.
