"Le Bouvier" was the first LP "Les Menestriers" that I heard. Good instrumentation, virtuosim, good singer.
The song "Douce dame jolie" is beautiful in this version, one that we must listen carefully is "Les Trois Fontaines," a real battle between an Arabic lute (oud) and the "saz" (medieval lute) both played with a plectrum, amazing rhythm and virtuosity impeccable (wonderful listening for fans of the first lutes). Another recommended track is "La Manfredina" as in jazz and improvised in the Renaissance, the example is excellent in as for improvisation, keeping the melody of the best performances I've heard of this piece.
A very complete and unforgettable album.
