The Italian pianist, Leonardo Locatelli, was born into a family of artists, brother and aunt already musicians, the sculptor father and grew up immersed in art. He began studying the piano at the age of 7 and at 10 he was admitted to the “G. Donizetti ”in Bergamo, where under the guidance of Marco Giovanetti he graduated with full marks in 2004, winning the Simon Mayr prize as the best graduate of the year of the institute. He later perfected himself with the masters Boris Petrushansky, Andrea Lucchesini and Igor Roma and at the Musical Academy of Cremona with the masters Franco Scala and Giorgia Tomassi. He won several national and international piano competitions, including the 1st prize Città di Schio and the Città di Gorgonzola. In 2010, on the occasion of the bicentenary of Frédéric Chopin's birth, he won the selection (1st place) to play the Krakowiak with the Auditorium G. Verdi orchestra in Milan.

Leonardo Locatelli began an intense solo career that led him to play throughout Italy. He performed with great success in all 20 Italian regions in over 180 different municipalities, touching 380 performances. Among the most prestigious Italian venues in which he performed as a soloist we find: Teatro Sociale in Bergamo, Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Venice Teatro La Fenice, Amici del Loggione della Scala in Milan, Auditorium Verdi in Milan, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. He has performed in some European states such as Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and several times in the USA.

Leonardo Locatelli also carries out his chamber career playing with various instrumentalists including Charls Vernon (Chicago Symphony Orchestra bass trombone) Claudio Martini (Hornist of the Teatro alla Scala) the world-famous Georgian soprano Elizaveta Martirosyan. At just 35 he has already recorded 30 albums. It has a vast and varied repertoire, of over 1,000 pieces, from J.S. Bach (integrals of French suites, matches, inventions, symphonies, Goldberg variations), W.A. Mozart (sonatas), L.v. Beethoven (op 13, op 27, op 31, op 57, op 81a, op 101) monographic programs on Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt (complete studies by Paganini), Mussorgsky's Pictures from an exhibition of the 900 Prokofieff (sonatas), Sergei Rachmaninov (preludes and etudes tableaux); is also a transcriber in the contemporary repertoire of soundtracks (Morricone, Williams, Zimmer etc ..).

Currently, in addition to devoting himself to a concert career, Leonardo Locatelli is Artistic Director of the Traumerei-Sogno Cultural Association which deals with wide-ranging musical projects and collaborates with National Associations on issues of high social value and informative.
