After a first album, in 1992, with a repertoire ranging from Trenet to Piaf, the Soul Of Poets celebrated Brel, Brassens, the Belgian singers, the first names of love, the interview Brel-Brassens-Ferré.

Here, the acoustic trio offers their ninth album, with a new starting theme: the original diversity of the performers of the French song, and, with, as a starting point, the song Le Métèque by Georges Moustaki.

As the three accomplices like to point out, "métèque", a word of Greek origin, had, initially, no pejorative connotation, having as its sole meaning "who has changed residence, House "("oikos", the house, as indicated in the dictionary of a Bailly). Only this cultural diversity inherited from its origins counts. In a very passionate age of "identity", it is not innocent.

With this new album, we make a little tour of the world: the "Greek" Georges Moustaki (the Métèque), the Italian Ivo Levi (Yves Montand: the bicycle), the Guadeloupean Henri Salvador (in my island), the Dutch Dick Annegarn (Brussels), the American Joséphine Baker (J'ai deux amours), the Armenian Charles Aznavour (la mamma), the Lebanese Louis Chedid (t'a beau être beau), The Italian Egyptian Dalida (Bambino, adaptation of guaglione), Canadians of beautiful damage (the lamentation of the seal in Alaska).

What strikes, from the first listening, is the acoustic purity of the sound, whether it is the crystal clear guitar by Fabien Degryse, the fluid and melodic double bass by Jean-Louis Rassinfosse or the cheerful soprano by Pierre Vaiana.
