Schubert’s eight “spontaneous inventions” from 1827 are character pieces that are among the best known and most popular works for piano. Full of rich lyricism, they are much more than trifles or whims, as the title suggests.

The Turkish-German pianist and composer, Kemal Cem Yilmaz, was rewarded with first prize in 2002 in the National Piano Competition held in Eskisehir, played in Bogaziçi University and Sabanci University concert series with Akbank Chamber Orchestra leaded by Cem Mansur, and played as soloist in Kadiköy Municipality Filarmony Orchestra with Hakan Sensoy leading. He performed in many halls in Istanbul, in Izmir and Bursa and Eskisehir Music Festival. Outstanding music critics have praised the artist.

The work Kemal Cem Yilmaz has composed for string orchestra, church organ, percussion, clarinet, flute, and baglama for the 700th year celebration of his hometown Langenhagen in 2012.

In 2014-2015 Kemal Cem Yilmaz performed as a soloist with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and MR Chamber Orchestra. He also has many resital and chamber music programs in many parts of Turkey.
