For their fourth album on Aparté, Julie Cherrier-Hoffmann and Frédéric Chaslin, after presenting cycles of creations ("Songs for Her", "Appointment" with Pierre Arditi and Lucienne Renaudin Vary, "the Human Voice" and the "Engagement for laughter" in an orchestration by Frédéric Chaslin with the orchestra of the Fenice of Venice), meet this time around the masterpieces of French melody. Frédéric Chaslin, a big name on the international opera scenes, composer and here pianist, offers Julie Cherrier-Hoffmann all the palettes of her instrument to offer us, on the one hand, a choice of pieces that can be found in the repertoire of the great melodists ("After a dream", "The Time of the lilacs", "The Invitation to Travel") and, on the other hand, rarities, with Debussy's Romance or Alfred Bachelet's "Dear Night".
