Highly acclaimed guitarist, multi instrumentalist, composer and producer Igor Osypov with his crunchy and distortedly liquid sound has become one of the distinct and impressive voices in jazz as well as indie-rock, hip-hop and fusion.
With his crunchy, slightly distorted sound, Ukrainian guitarist, composer and producer Igor Osypov has become one of the distinct voices across jazz, indie-rock and fusion. He is closely associated with Logan Richardson’s Blues People and SHIFT projects, later appearing on Afrofuturism in 2021.
As a sideman, he has worked with artists including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nasheet Waits, Josh Ginsburg, Diego Pinera and Elias Semeseder, and has recorded two albums as a leader. Igor’s playing has taken him across the globe, including top festivals like Montreux Jazz Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival and NPR Tiny Desk. He is currently working on two solo projects which deal with the Motherland in reference to his native Ukraine.
