The three brothers Gibson from Martinique had quite a touch for catchy tunes, spicy rhythms and good vocals. In 1979 and especially in 1980 they were very successful in continental Europe and in the UK.
With "Cuba" (# 41 in England and # 22 here in Germany) the single hits started. "Oooh! What a Life" went to # 10 in England, and "Que sera mi vida" was a smash in England (# 5) and in Germany (# 4). "Cuba", now with the swirling "Better Do It Salsa" on the B-side, even returned to the charts in England nearly a year after its first visit and went to # 12 this time.
Surprisingly the album, that contained all these songs, didn't chart either in England or here in Germany…by Communique, RYM
