The new Album by Gábor Boldoczki is a musical journey of discovery to Versailles, to the court of the sun king, Louis XIV., The award-winning trumpeter, flute, and oboe Concerti of the French Baroque composer Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764), Michel Blavet (1700-1768), Jacques-Christophe Naudot (1690-1762) and Bonaventure Gilles (C. 1678-?) included in arrangements for Valve trumpet and flugelhorn. "The timbres and virtuosity resulting from the French decorations inspired me to interpret the atmosphere of Versailles on the trumpet for the first time," says Gábor Boldoczki. "Unlike the natural trumpet of the time, which in the Baroque period is usually in a heavenly or stately context, the modern valve trumpet and flugelhorn allow the very melodic concerts to blossom into a new one with a brilliant, radiant and vocal sound."The Album also presents four movements arranged for trumpet and orchestra from François Couperin's (1668-1733) chamber music" Concerts Royaux "as well as a dance movement from the Opera" Les Boréades " by Couperin's colleague Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764). On his album" Versailles " Boldoczki is accompanied by the Cappella Gabetta under the direction of violinist and Ensemble founder Andrés Gabetta.
