Schopfheim is located in the valley of the meadow, which looks for its way into the Rhine from the Feldberg. The Black Forest begins soon after the local border, on the other side of the river, the Dinkelberg reaches the cantonal border of Basel-Stadt as a wooded mountain range towards the High Rhine area. A peaceful corner of Central Europe, a place of tendential calm.

"I like to be out and about in nature, mountain biking for example. This gives me a lot of input, inspires me to melodies, spherical sounds, “ says Dominik Hoyer and goes on to say that he has since moved back to Schopfheim. In the basement he has set up a small studio, can practice and record a little. He teaches in Switzerland, has a living, a comfortable situation as a young drummer, as long as it does not pull you into the shark tanks:

"I can't quite believe that I'm supposed to be one of this next generation. Maybe it's more of a motto that is above the album series, because I don't notice so much of it. However, I already feel picked up by my peers, perhaps with Felix Lehrmann in terms of drums, even if he is not a jazz drummer in the narrower sense. Looking at America, it's crazy anyway, what's going on there, especially technically. But I also find the older colleagues like Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta or in Germany Wolfgang Haffner very exciting, whereby of course I am influenced by my teachers. In terms of personality and statement, Jeff Ballard is certainly an important guide.“
