Divisia - Wifebeater (1997, LP) (24/96 Vinyl Rip)

Divisia is not punk, contary to what those might think. Many of their riffs are metal, Alisha's vox also range thick and high distorting her voice into metal screams with murder metal force. Yes, murder metal is an actual genre. The best and main example to murder metal is "Macabre" if you listen to that band you'll realize Alisha is almost a female version of his voice… Don't get me wrong Divisia still has dramatic punk influence, but like most genius the band is not only that. They are not hardcore or metalcore either, so don't even go there. This album is not a "man hater" album as another review stated, nor are they similiar to Bikini Kill. There was only one song that reminded me vaguely of Bikini Kill and it wasn't the vocals, it was the beat of the drums… Alisha's vocals are like that of the "macabre" mixed with Jessicka from "jack off jill" and Wendy O'Williams from the "Plasmatics".
