For a successful homage, what better than to insure it yourself? That's what the incredible pianist Chucho Valdés, former leader of the Iraqere group, did. Cuban by birth, he revolutionized the music of his native island with his ivory keys. With an unstoppable swing, he is accompanied on stage by his group The Afro-Cuban Messengers, who bathed in the music of Irakere. The group's biggest hits are picked up and the genre timba definitely in the spotlight. Chucho Valdés has lost none of its splendor and always illuminates the piano with his enchanted fingers. Moreover, it is not trivial that Marciac is chosen to record this album, as this festival is a representative of jazz. At 74 today, the Cuban genius seems to have lost nothing of his talent.
